The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) opposition launched a vigorous protest in the state assembly on Thursday, criticizing the government's delay in taking action against police officers accused of assaulting a Youth Congress activist.

During the assembly proceedings, Leader of Opposition V D Satheesan expressed strong dissatisfaction over the government's perceived inaction, which has been a focal point of discontent among UDF members.

Two UDF MLAs, Saneesh Kumar and A K M Ashraf, have been staging an indefinite Satyagraha outside the assembly hall since Tuesday, vowing to continue their protest until the involved officers are suspended.
