Next week, Taiwan's representative to the APEC summit in South Korea, Lin Hsin-i, announced his intention to engage in proactive discussions with participating leaders. Lin, who heads Taiwania Capital, emphasized Taiwan's contribution to the Asia-Pacific region's prosperity, despite the island being seen by China as its own territory.

Speaking alongside President Lai Ching-te, Lin underscored Taiwan's role as a semiconductor powerhouse and its commitment to regional sustainability. At this international forum, Taiwan participates as 'Chinese Taipei,' as political tensions with China preclude sending their president.

Lin plans to emphasize Taiwan's position as a responsible global partner and seeks to enhance ties with international counterparts. Though Lin refrained from media interaction about his summit plans, previous engagements include meetings with major international figures like U.S. presidents. Taiwan stands firm against China's sovereignty claims.
