In a press conference, Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) of collusion in various political fronts within Kerala. Venugopal advised that Congress staunchly opposes the educational agenda promoted by the Sangh Parivar and has no part in implementing the PM SHRI scheme.
Venugopal voiced skepticism over the recent Rs 1,400 crore allocation to the PM SHRI scheme, questioning if it was effectively a bargaining tool disguised as educational aid. He challenged the CPI(M) to uphold their initial resistance to the project and avoid caving to political coercion. The Congress leader's remarks also touched on a High Court ruling against the Travancore Devaswom Board, highlighting it as evidence of the Left government's failure in safeguarding temple assets.
Concluding his statements, Venugopal reiterated his commitment to fortifying the UDF and securing a victory over the Marxist party in Kerala. These comments arise as the Kerala government proceeds with the PM SHRI initiative after initially rejecting it, despite opposition from certain segments within the CPI.
