A booth-level officer involved in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in West Bengal's Murshidabad has died, reportedly due to cardiac arrest amid allegations of excessive work pressure.

Zakir Hossain, a primary school teacher assigned as a BLO, succumbed after collapsing from severe chest pain. His family alleges the pressure of balancing BLO duties and teaching contributed to his death.

The incident, marking the fourth similar death since November 4, has fueled political tension, with the Trinamool Congress blaming the Election Commission for the deaths, while the BJP accuses the ruling party of creating stress for BLOs.
