Congress Gears Up for Municipal Elections and Criticizes BJP's Tactics

The Maharashtra Congress is gearing up for the January 15 polls for 29 municipal corporations, with candidate selections to be finalized at a two-day State Parliamentary Board meeting starting December 25.
Harshwardhan Sapkal, State Congress president, revealed that detailed election strategies, including alliances, are being discussed with leaders from 28 municipal corporations. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation will have a separate strategy session.
Sapkal also criticized the BJP over alleged misuse of the Enforcement Directorate for political harassment, demanding accountability from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Additionally, he called for the removal of Sports Minister Manikrao Kokate, citing a court-upheld scam conviction.
