In a major political shift, the BJP has ended the nearly three-decade dominance of the Shiv Sena in Mumbai's civic elections. The BJP emerged victorious in the crucial Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, ending years of Sena control.

The BJP, along with its ally Shiv Sena, won a significant number of seats in Maharashtra's civic polls, securing their stronghold across 25 out of the 29 municipal corporations, including a historic win in Mumbai.
