The Congress party reproved the Union government on Wednesday for supposedly obstructing Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's opportunity to address the Lok Sabha. They expressed concern when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not yet engaged in any debate in the Lower House.
After a conclave at Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge's residence, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh commented that Gandhi has been consistently barred from completing his speech. According to Ramesh, Gandhi is being hindered deliberately because his remarks touch on national security issues.
Alleging disparagement of former Congress leaders by BJP MPs, Ramesh demanded respect and emphasized Gandhi's right to speak. They plan further coordination among opposition leaders to address their strategy, especially concerning Rahul Gandhi's references to General M M Naravane's unpublished memoir on the 2020 India-China conflict.
