In a fierce press conference, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav called for accountability regarding alleged irregularities in the electoral roll revision process. Yadav emphasized the need for transparency, citing cases of wrongful voter deletions.

The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister plans to meet the Election Commission to submit a memorandum demanding clarity on rules for filing FIRs and holding responsible parties accountable. Concerns over party supporters' votes being illicitly removed through fraudulent means were a focal point of his address.

Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of orchestrating voter suppression against SP strongholds. He alleged that a secret plan, reportedly initiated in a BJP meeting, led to mass voter deletions, citing specific instances in Kannauj and other constituencies.
