In a surprising development, seasoned CPI(M) leader G Sudhakaran declared his departure from the party, announcing his decision to run independently in the Ambalappuzha constituency. This comes after Sudhakaran accused some CPI(M) cadres of conducting personal attacks against him on social media.

The 79-year-old political figure, known for his clean image and administrative capabilities, has chosen to carry forward his campaign independently, leaving behind a six-decade-long association with the Communist party. Sudhakaran emphasized his commitment to the party's ideology but expressed disappointment with local leadership's negligence.
