Karnataka Assembly Crisis: Ministers under Fire for Delayed Replies

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has criticized his cabinet for the delay in answering legislative questions, causing embarrassment to the government. He urged immediate corrective actions as a significant number of questions left unanswered undermines House dignity. Speaker's dissatisfaction led to adjournment after opposition protests.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has expressed strong disapproval over the cabinet's failure to provide timely replies to legislative questions. The delay has not only embarrassed the government but also compromised the sanctity of the House.

In his letter to ministers, Siddaramaiah highlighted that a significant number of questions from various sessions of the 16th Karnataka Legislative Assembly remain unanswered. Out of 245 questions, only 90 have been addressed.

The Speaker's displeasure was evident as the Assembly proceedings were adjourned, following allegations by opposition leaders that the government ignored earlier warnings. Siddaramaiah has encouraged departments to immediately rectify the situation, even suggesting direct communication with concerned MLAs.
