West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has leveled serious allegations against the BJP and Election Commission in connection to the recent gherao of judicial officers in Malda. She accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of laying the groundwork for unrest to justify implementing President's Rule before upcoming elections.
Addressing rallies in Murshidabad district, Banerjee urged the public to not fall for what she described as the BJP's plan to create riots. She criticized the Election Commission for stripping her of administrative powers and failing to protect the judicial officers, despite the poll panel's intervention.
The Supreme Court criticized the West Bengal administration for its failure to act during the incident, ordering an independent investigation. Banerjee condemned the actions but attributed the incident to a larger political scheme aimed at maligning Bengal's image, emphasizing her commitment to peace and democracy.
