BJP chief Nitin Nabin has requested an explanation from former party MP Sanjeev Balyan, following accusations of his silence in response to comments by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann against Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a recent event in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
Sources revealed that Mann's remarks at a Jat conclave involved critiques of Modi on several issues such as price rise, ultimately drawing a metaphor of Modi turning India into a 'Vishwachela' instead of a 'Vishwaguru'. Allegations suggested Balyan, who attended, failed to voice objection, thus prompting Nabin's demand for clarification.
Balyan denied the allegation, stating he had indeed protested twice during Mann's speech and suggested that political discussions were inappropriate for the occasion. He further claimed media coverage of his protest and clarified the organizers' subsequent actions that led to Mann's exit.
