In the midst of fiercely contested West Bengal Assembly polls, several Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders have voiced concerns over what they describe as a 'fishy' vote counting process. As counting proceeds, notable delays and alleged mismanagement by poll officials have sparked apprehension among TMC supporters and candidates.

Shrreya Pande, a TMC candidate from north Kolkata's Maniktala, remains optimistic about securing her seat, despite trailing behind BJP's Tapas Roy. She attributes the situation to a lack of cooperation from the Election Commission, highlighting that only the first of twenty rounds has been counted, implying that the TMC is still poised to form the government.

Other prominent TMC figures, including candidate and incumbent minister Shashi Panja, have echoed similar concerns. Panja accused poll personnel of delaying the counting process by prohibiting authorized agents' entry to counting centers, labeling it a result of confusion at the site. Kakdwip candidate Manturam Pakhira similarly reported delays and inefficiencies, underscoring the tension surrounding these high-stakes elections.
