BJP Dominates Asom Gana Parishad Election with Resounding Leads
The BJP and its allies secured significant leads in the Asom Gana Parishad election, with key victories and several constituencies favoring them. Prominent leaders of BJP and its allies have triumphed in major seats, while opposition parties like Congress and AIUDF managed limited advances.

In a commanding performance, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clinched three seats outright and led in 78 others, alongside its ally, the Bodoland People's Front (BPF), which captured one seat and was ahead in nine constituencies. The Election Commission reported these developments as of 3 p.m.
The Congress, trailing significantly, maintained leads in only 20 seats. The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), another BJP ally, was ahead in nine constituencies, while regional parties like the AIUDF and Raijor Dal managed advances in two seats each.
Significant victories for BJP were reported, with Minister Ranoj Pegu winning Dhemaji, and veteran Hitendranath Goswami overcoming Congress's Gaurav Gogoi in Jorhat. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma was ahead by 63,029 votes in Jalukbari, reinforcing the BJP's stronghold.
