In an unexpected turn of events, employees at the West Bengal state secretariat, Nabanna, celebrated the BJP's assembly election victory on Tuesday. Chants of 'Jai Shree Ram', 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai', and 'Vande Mataram' resonated through the multi-storied building, marking an unprecedented scene.

While there was no confrontation or disruption of work, the slogans caught many by surprise, according to officials. Employees expressed enthusiasm over the political shift, hailing it as 'freedom from the misrule of the last 15 years'. The election result has sparked hope for the resolution of long-standing issues, particularly overdue dearness allowances.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured during the campaign that the 7th Pay Commission would be implemented, and DA arrears would be cleared within 45 days if the BJP won. With 207 out of 294 assembly seats secured, the BJP ended the 15-year reign of the TMC in West Bengal.
