China Calls for Urgent Ceasefire Amidst Ongoing Middle East Conflict
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed deep concern over the enduring conflict involving Iran, the US, and Israel. During talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Beijing, Wang stressed the need for a comprehensive ceasefire, emphasizing dialogue and negotiation over continued hostilities as a means to peace.
In a high-stakes diplomatic meeting, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi expressed China's deep concern over the prolonged conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. The war, which has lasted over two months, was a central issue during talks held in Beijing with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
Wang Yi urged the importance of implementing a "comprehensive ceasefire" and conveyed that any resumption of hostilities would be unacceptable. This meeting marked Araghchi's first visit to China since the conflict erupted on February 28.
China's top diplomat emphasized the necessity of adhering to dialogue and negotiations to resolve the conflict, underscoring the urgent need for peace and stability in the region.
