On Monday, BJP corporators in Jalna were involved in a fierce altercation over the passage of a development contract, resulting in violence that prompted police intervention, according to officials.
BJP corporator Mahaveer Dhakka, along with 10 to 11 associates, has been accused of assaulting standing committee chairman Ashok Pangarkar and his supporters during this contentious exchange, the police stated.
The dispute centered on the resolution for development work contracts in the standing committee, escalating to a physical confrontation where Dhakka and his associates allegedly entered the mayor's office wielding iron rods and daggers, leading to injuries for Dharam Singh Tahkur.
