Himanta Biswa Sarma has officially begun his second term as Chief Minister of Assam. The swearing-in ceremony, held on Tuesday at the Veterinary College Field in Khanapara, Guwahati, was attended by key political figures from India, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Singapore's High Commissioner to India, Simon Wong, extended his heartfelt congratulations, emphasizing continued friendship with Assam. Wong assured that Singapore would always stand by Chief Minister Sarma and the state. The High Commissioner shared these sentiments in a social media post, highlighting the strong diplomatic relationships at play.
Also present at the event was US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, who acknowledged the significant commercial ties between the United States and Assam. Gor expressed hope for identifying further beneficial opportunities under Sarma's leadership. This marks the formation of the third consecutive NDA government in Assam, a significant political milestone for the region.
