On Thursday, church leaders in Kerala extended their congratulations to Chief Minister-designate V D Satheesan following the AICC announcement. They urged the new government to prioritize pro-people governance and foster social unity.

The Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council (KCBC) expressed hopes that the new leadership will ensure non-discriminatory governance grounded in democratic values and the Constitution. Archbishop Varghese Chakkalakal emphasized the need for a development culture that embraces all, while offering full support for government initiatives promoting peace and progress.

The KCBC called for creative solutions to tackle crises, particularly for high-range farmers and coastal communities. Additionally, Baselios Marthoma Mathews III of the Malankara Orthodox Church highlighted societal expectations for advancements in IT, tourism, and employment. Mathews also noted Satheesan's leadership experience as a key asset in navigating the state's challenges.
