Pakistan's Defence Minister, Khawaja Asif, has expressed his firm opposition to Pakistan joining the Abraham Accords, which are designed to normalize relations between Israel and several Arab countries.
Asif's remarks were delivered after U.S. President Donald Trump encouraged participants in the Iran peace talks to sign on to the Accords, which aim to form diplomatic, economic, and security ties with Israel.
The minister stressed that such an agreement contradicts Pakistan's fundamental ideologies and reiterated his country's position of non-acceptance of Israel pending the establishment of a Palestinian state on the pre-1967 borders.
