Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, a Member of Parliament representing Barasat, stepped down from her organizational roles within the Trinamool Congress, marking a further shift in internal party dynamics. Her departure follows public dissatisfaction with party leadership.

Dastidar's move came shortly after attending Suvendu Adhikari's administrative review session in Kalyani, an event she was allegedly told to avoid by her party. This attendance, along with subsequent claims about her newfound 'freedom,' has fueled speculation regarding her political intentions. Previously, she had also resigned as the president of the Trinamool's Barasat district unit, a position now filled by Tapas Chatterjee.

The developments underscore growing unrest within the TMC ranks, especially after electoral setbacks and recent criticisms by some leaders. The party has yet to officially respond to Dastidar's exit.
