Across Karnataka, supporters of Siddaramaiah expressed their dismay at his choice to resign from his position as Chief Minister, leading to protests in various locations. Numbers gathered outside his official Bengaluru residence, pleading for him to reconsider his decision.
In addition to sites in Bengaluru, protests erupted in several cities, including Shivamogga and Yadgir, where demonstrators showcased their disappointment with slogans and, in some instances, burning tyres. Meanwhile, Law Minister H K Patil confirmed Siddaramaiah's plan to step down and appoint D K Shivakumar as his successor, with formalization of the transition expected in upcoming party meetings.
