Starting May 30, Manipur will embark on a significant exercise to update its electoral rolls, as announced by the state's Chief Electoral Officer, Arun Kumar Sinha. This initiative aims to ensure the inclusion of all eligible voters while eliminating any ineligible names.
Sinha revealed that booth-level officers would visit homes from May 30 to June 28, distributing and collecting enumeration forms from the existing electorate. A meeting held on May 16 involving political party representatives underscored the transparent nature of this exercise. Stakeholders are encouraged to participate, guaranteeing that all claims and objections are addressed before the final electoral rolls are published on September 6.
