DMK Criticizes Congress's Arrogance Amid Alliance Tensions
DMK leader Alim Albuhari criticized Congress for alleged arrogance surpassing that of the BJP, citing it as a reason for DMK's separation from the INDIA Alliance. The row follows Congress's support for TVK, creating a rift with DMK and even prompting hesitation from AAP's Arvind Kejriwal.

Alim Albuhari, a leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), launched a scathing critique against Congress on Monday, accusing the party of exhibiting arrogance that eclipses that of the BJP. Speaking to ANI amid ongoing tensions in Tamil Nadu, Albuhari said that DMK had joined the INDIA bloc, hopeful of Congress's commitment to federalism.
Albuhari emphasized that this belief in Congress's protective capability was pivotal for DMK's alliance under the INDIA banner. However, he lamented, Congress's subsequent arrogance had not only disillusioned DMK but also AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal, he noted, remains wary about aligning with the multi-party opposition coalition.
The fallout between DMK and Congress in Tamil Nadu was highlighted by Albuhari, who accused Congress of pursuing power post-elections, supporting Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) without showing respect. Congratulatory intentions were overshadowed by Congress's alignment with actor-turned-politician Vijay's TVK, which had gained 108 seats, resulting in a perceived breach of alliance trust and DMK's withdrawal from the INDIA bloc.
