U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday his intention to nominate a permanent leader for the Office of the Director of National Intelligence who has a solid background in national security.
In a statement on Truth Social, Trump revealed that Bill Pulte has been appointed as the acting director, effective June 19, with the responsibility to downsize the office.
Trump has tasked Pulte with the mandate to return the staff to their original home agencies as part of the restructuring plan.
