Britain's government has held initial conversations with the police in the investigation into a leak of confidential memos from the country's ambassador to Washington, Prime Minister Theresa May's spokeswoman said.
Kim Darroch quit on Wednesday after Donald Trump called him "stupid" and "wacky" following the leaking of the memos to a newspaper in which he branded the U.S. president's administration inept.
"There have been some initial discussions with the police on the investigation," the spokeswoman told reporters.
