In a tragic incident, a laborer was killed and two others were injured after a two-storey under-construction house collapsed in Madhya Pradesh's Dindori district, police confirmed on Monday.

The incident took place in the early hours in Matta village, with authorities receiving a distress call around 5 am, according to Gadasarai police station in-charge Durga Prasad. 'Upon receiving the information, police immediately rushed to the spot. Three laborers trapped under the debris were rescued,' he briefed the reporters.

The victims were quickly transported to a nearby hospital, where one was pronounced dead. Preliminary investigations suggest heavy rainfall in the area may have contributed to the collapse. An official probe is currently underway.
