Mumbai, Maharashtra, India – L'Oréal India proudly announces that it has achieved 100% renewable energy for all its operations, including manufacturing plants in Baddi and Chakan, research centers in Mumbai and Bengaluru, and various offices.
This milestone aligns with the company's global sustainability targets and India's Net Zero objectives outlined at the Glasgow COP 26 summit. Over the past decade, L'Oréal India has made significant strides to minimize environmental impact through energy-conscious practices.
Crucially, the company employs robust systems to ensure transparency and traceability in sourcing renewable energy, using windmills and solar farms. The Chakan plant has transitioned to wind and solar energy, while the Baddi plant now utilizes hydro power. Collectively, these efforts have reduced carbon emissions to zero and cut energy intensity by 23% between 2019 and 2023.
