Rains returned to Mumbai on Saturday, offering much-needed relief from the ongoing heatwave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts sustained showers across Maharashtra over the next few days.
Santacruz recorded 59 mm of rainfall, while Colaba saw 14 mm. Reports indicate that higher regions like Harnai in Ratnagiri and Dahanu in Palghar witnessed 116 mm and 143 mm of rainfall, respectively.
The IMD has issued weather alerts for multiple districts, including an orange alert warning of potential heavy rainfall and flooding in regions such as Pune, Satara, and parts of Vidarbha. The forecast stems from low-pressure areas over West Bengal and the Arabian Sea, signaling more rain for Maharashtra in the upcoming days.
