Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has launched a decisive campaign to eliminate illegal residential layouts by issuing B-Khata as a one-time settlement. This drive, set to be completed within three months, targets unauthorized properties to regularize them, offering relief for property owners while boosting government revenue.
The Chief Minister, in a meeting with Urban Development Department officials and district deputy commissioners, emphasized the need to eradicate unauthorized settlements statewide. He highlighted the financial losses these illegal layouts cause, including lost revenue and deprived civic amenities for residents, underscoring the drive's urgency.
Speaking to the media, Siddaramaiah outlined the structured plan proposed by a committee led by Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre. The move will initially cover Bengaluru and extend to municipalities and urban areas across the state, ensuring a comprehensive approach to managing residential layouts.
