On Wednesday, the Trump administration unveiled a sweeping wave of regulatory rollbacks, aiming to reverse Biden-era emissions limits on power plants and vehicles while also reducing protections for U.S. waterways. These moves are part of a broader effort to stimulate industries such as coal and manufacturing, in line with President Trump's promises to slash regulations.

The Environmental Protection Agency, under Administrator Lee Zeldin, announced more than 30 deregulatory measures, calling it a historic day for deregulation. These changes, however, are poised to weaken key environmental protections and face staunch opposition from environmental groups prepared to challenge them legally.

Among the measures are reconsiderations of mercury and air toxics rules and the rollback of greenhouse gas standards for vehicles. Additionally, the EPA plans to ease restrictions on runoff pollution and revise standards for power industry emissions. The responses from various sector stakeholders are mixed, as legal battles loom.
