In a decisive move, Punjab Local Government Minister Ravjot Singh has mandated the prompt removal of waste from a temporary dump site at Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar, emphasizing the area's significance. The Minister responded to concerns raised by AAP MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh during the Budget Session.
The site, initially intended as a vehicle parking for solid waste collectors, morphed into a temporary garbage collection point. Minister Singh instructed the concerned company to remove all waste and machinery immediately. The Amritsar Municipal Corporation has secured the area with fencing, tasked with thorough twice-daily cleaning of the site.
Separately, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh addressed hazards related to high voltage wires in residential areas, prompted by MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh. Safety measures are being implemented, and illegal constructions near power lines face strict scrutiny to prevent further risks.
