Heatwave Alert: East India Braces for Rising Temperatures

A scorching heatwave is on the horizon for east India, poised to start Saturday, as announced by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday.

While the eastern regions prepare for soaring temperatures, the country's northwest and central parts brace for continued rainfall and thunderstorms over the coming days.

The IMD has warned of heatwave conditions in specific regions, including sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and several other states, though frequent thunderstorms could help in tempering the heat.
