Monsoon Deluge: IMD Predicts Above-Normal Rainfall Across India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted above-normal rainfall for many Indian regions in July, urging central India, Uttarakhand, and Haryana to prepare for potential floods.

IMD Director General, Mrutyunjay Mohapatra, noted variations in temperature across parts of the northeast, northwest, east, and southern peninsula, with some experiencing above-normal temperatures.

A significant rainfall watch is advised for river catchments like the Godavari, Mahanadi, and Krishna, as five low-pressure systems are predicted to develop and move west-northwest within the month.
