Thailand Battles Devastating Floods: Urgent Relief Underway

In response to devastating floods that have swept across 16 provinces in Thailand, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul has ordered immediate relief efforts. These floods, triggered by persistent heavy rains and storms, have resulted in 12 fatalities and affected more than 100,000 households.

The Interior Ministry reported that northern, central, and northeastern regions, especially Uttaradit province, are the worst hit, with five deaths recorded there. Residents have been forced to evacuate, with some saying they had to move to the roofs of their homes before seeking shelter elsewhere.

Premier Anutin noted that officials are actively providing aid and evaluating the catastrophe's impact while bracing for more rainfall as the monsoon season unfolds. His administration remembers last year's tragedy, where similar conditions claimed 22 lives, underscoring the urgency of their response.
