Dense fog enveloped large parts of Delhi-NCR on Thursday morning, significantly reducing visibility and disrupting traffic across the region.
The India Meteorological Department reported visibility at Palam Airport plummeted to 150 metres, while Safdarjung Airport recorded 200 metres. Motorists on major roads, including highways connecting Gurugram, Ghaziabad, and Noida, experienced delays as fog slowed traffic to a crawl.
As the day progressed, visibility at Indira Gandhi International Airport, Palam increased slightly and is expected to improve further, alleviating some transportation concerns. However, the dense fog is forecasted to continue in the early mornings as winter tightens its grip. In addition, air quality remains a significant concern with the AQI in the 'very poor' category.
