India's elevator industry is rallying for the establishment of a 'One Nation, One Lift Law' during the upcoming Smart Lift & Mobility World 2026. The industry, predicting a productivity surge of up to 25 percent post-regulation, sees the law as pivotal for safety, standardisation, and economic growth.
The event, expected to draw over 12,000 visitors, will provide a platform to chart a roadmap for uniform safety standards, streamlined compliance, and ease of doing business. Anita Raghunath of Virgo Communications emphasized the law's role in urban governance and industrial expansion.
Industry experts believe national regulation would streamline compliance and inspection, aligning India's framework with global standards. With a market projection reaching USD 22.20 billion by 2033, this initiative seeks to sustain India's growth as a leading vertical mobility market.
