Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde issued a suspension order for an executive engineer following a tragic accident at a Metro construction site in Mulund, Mumbai, on Saturday.
The incident resulted in the death of one person and left three others injured when a parapet segment of a bridge collapsed onto vehicles below.
Shinde confirmed that the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) would cover medical expenses for the injured and emphasized no leniency for violations endangering public safety.
