In a significant weather forecast, the Indian Meteorological Department has warned of persistent heatwave conditions across the northern regions of Tamil Nadu. These high temperatures are expected to remain above normal by 2 degree Celsius, affecting cities like Chennai and Madurai.
Meanwhile, a contrasting weather pattern is emerging in the southern and western districts of Tamil Nadu, where heavy rainfall is anticipated. Regions such as Nilgiris, Coimbatore, and other neighboring areas are bracing for significant downpours beginning Thursday.
The onset of 'Agni Natchathiram' is contributing to these weather extremes, resulting in 10 cm of rainfall in some parts over the last 24 hours. Residents should prepare for the dual impact of heat and rain as the state experiences these climatic fluctuations.
