Blues extend LW Blais for 2 years, $3M

The St. Louis Blues agreed to a two-year, $3 million extension with left winger Sammy Blais, the team announced on Wednesday night. Blais was set to become a restricted free agent with arbitration eligibility after the season. Instead, he will be under contract through the 2021-22 season.

The 23-year-old had six goals and seven assists while averaging 12:35 of ice time in 40 games this season before the campaign was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. A sixth-round pick by the Blues in 2014, Blais has played 83 NHL games across parts of three seasons, totaling nine goals and 11 assists.
