The second day of the second Hockey India Junior Women and Men South Zone Championship 2024 in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, saw impressive performances as Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh emerged victorious in the women's matches. In the men’s category, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Karnataka secured wins.
In the women's matches, Hockey Kerala opened with a decisive 5-0 victory over Le Puducherry Hockey. Aadilakshmi M scored twice at the 16th and 60th minutes, with Sruthi Suresh, Devipriya KS, and Captain Piyoosha S contributing to wrap up the win. Hockey Karnataka overcame the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu 3-1, with Manish Poonamma Cd starting the scoreboard. Deepika R and Rakshitha J ensured victory in the final quarter. The last women's game saw Hockey Andhra Pradesh thrash Telangana Hockey 11-0, with Ankitha Bommu, Lalitha Kotari, and Bobbili Jhansi all scoring hat-tricks.
The men's fixtures began with the Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu routing Le Puducherry Hockey 7-0, led by Vishal S and Sundarajith M’s two goals each. Telangana Hockey outperformed Kerala Hockey 3-0, thanks to Pradeep Kodapa and Captain Manoj Aggu. Hockey Karnataka completed the day with a 4-0 victory over Hockey Andhra Pradesh, with early goals from Hrithik Aiyappa and Kiran Reddy.
