Justin Rose began his campaign for his first British Open title with an impressive bogey-free two-under-par 69. The 43-year-old, who finished tied fourth at the British Open as a 17-year-old amateur, remains optimistic about his chances.
Rose, a former U.S. Open champion and Olympic gold medalist, expressed his emotional connection to the tournament. 'It's a special event for me being a Brit,' Rose said. 'It's the one I've dreamed about winning ever since I was a kid.'
Despite no longer competing at the highest level regularly, Rose believes he's capable of winning. 'I'm a good enough golfer to have my weeks where it all comes together,' he added.
