England's seamers made significant inroads into the West Indies' batting lineup on day one of the third and final test at Edgbaston, leaving the visitors at 194 for five at tea. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite managed to score 61 before his dismissal.
The West Indies, having won the toss, initially looked stable with an opening stand of 76 between Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis. However, England's bowlers struck back, reducing the visitors to 97 for three by lunchtime. Despite their earlier struggles, wicketkeeper-batter Joshua Da Silva and former skipper Jason Holder put on an unbeaten 79-run partnership to bring some stability.
As the final session approached, Da Silva was 35 not out and Holder was on 42, as the pair aimed to rescue the innings. England had already secured the series, convincingly winning the first two tests.
