PV Sindhu Advances to Olympic Pre-Quarterfinals

Indian shuttler PV Sindhu advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the Olympic women's singles badminton competition by defeating Estonia's Kristin Kuuba. Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medallist, dominated the game with scores of 21-5, 21-10, topping her group after an earlier victory against Maldives' Fathimath Abdul Razzaq.

Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu stormed into the pre-quarterfinals of the Olympic Games' women's singles competition after decisively beating Kristin Kuuba of Estonia in straight games on Wednesday.

The two-time Olympic medallist secured her win with scores of 21-5, 21-10 in her second and last Group M match.

Sindhu, who had previously defeated Maldives' Fathimath Abdul Razzaq 21-9, 21-6 in her first match, topped Group M. Each group winner advances to the round of 16. Sindhu has already garnered a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Games and a bronze at the Tokyo edition.
