Nick Hockley, CEO of Cricket Australia, has announced his decision to step down from his role at the end of the 2024-2025 season, ending a five-year tenure as chief executive. Having served Cricket Australia for 13 years, Hockley's leadership was marked by his guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic and his ability to foster growth and stability.

Hockley emphasized that his decision was difficult but timely, considering the progress of Cricket Australia's five-year strategic plan. He assured that his focus remains on ensuring a smooth transition and supporting the Board in finding his successor. CA Chair Mike Baird confirmed Hockley's imminent departure and praised his contributions.

Appointed as interim CEO in June 2020 before taking on the permanent role a year later, Hockley played a pivotal role since he joined Cricket Australia in 2012. His early contributions included work as GM Commercial & Marketing for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, reflecting a longstanding commitment to the organization.
