India's Triumphs and Setbacks at Paralympic Games

India celebrates more victories at the Paralympic Games with Navdeep Singh winning gold in javelin throw F41 and Simran earning bronze in 200m (T12). Prachi Yadav finishes 8th in canoeing, and para-cyclists Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya fail to win medals. Swimmer Suyash Jadhav also misses out on a final spot.

India’s remarkable performance at the Paralympic Games saw javelin thrower Navdeep Singh securing a historic gold in the F41 classification, while visually impaired sprinter Simran captured bronze in the women's 200m (T12) event on Saturday.

Originally finishing with a silver, Navdeep’s 47.32m throw was upgraded to gold after Iran’s Sadegh Beit Sayah was disqualified for displaying an objectionable flag. Simran, accompanied by her guide Abhay Singh, clocked a personal best of 24.75 seconds to secure her medal.

Other Indian athletes faced tough competition, with canoeist Prachi Yadav finishing eighth in the VL2 200m finals and para-cyclists Arshad Shaik and Jyoti Gaderiya wrapping up without medals. Swimmer Suyash Jadhav also failed to enter the final of the men’s 50m butterfly S7.
