Groin Strain Sidelines Williamson from Second Test Against India
Kane Williamson will miss New Zealand's second cricket test against India due to a groin strain. Despite his absence, New Zealand won the first test in India after 36 years. Coach Gary Stead is hopeful for Williamson's recovery by the third test in Mumbai, coming in November.
Kane Williamson, former captain of New Zealand, will be absent for the team's second test match against India this Thursday, as announced by New Zealand Cricket. He is still recovering from a groin strain sustained during a series with Sri Lanka.
The New Zealand team, known as the Black Caps, managed to secure their first test victory in India in 36 years, even without their star batsman. Williamson remains at home to focus on his recovery.
Head coach Gary Stead expressed optimism regarding Williamson's condition, saying, "He's tracking in the right direction but isn't yet 100% fit." The team hopes to have him ready for the third test in Mumbai in early November, adopting a cautious approach to his recovery.
