Despite escalating cross-border tensions with India, the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will continue as scheduled, announced the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday. This assurance comes in the wake of a terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pahalgam, followed by Indian military strikes on terror targets in Pakistan.
The Indian armed forces executed precision missile strikes targeting Jaish-e-Mohammed strongholds in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba bases in Muridke. These actions were in retaliation for the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which left 26 people dead, predominantly tourists.
No overseas players have signaled a desire to exit the league, according to PCB officials. Matches are planned to proceed, with Rawalpindi hosting from May 7-10, and the final and eliminators in Gaddafi Stadium, showcasing an unwavering commitment to the sport amidst geopolitical challenges.
