Santiago Nieva, the Argentine-born Swede and former high-performance director, has rejoined the Indian boxing setup as the head coach of the women's team. Nieva, who previously directed India's men's team from 2017 to 2022, led the squad to notable achievements, including an impressive showing at the Tokyo Olympics and two medals at the 2019 Men's World Championships.

Nieva expressed excitement about returning to India, anticipating significant achievements in this new chapter. With over 20 years of elite international coaching experience, Nieva most recently served Boxing Australia's High Performance Unit as National Head Coach and Technical Lead.

Santiago's appointment is regarded as a monumental advance for India's women's program. His vast expertise is expected to enhance the Indian women's team's trajectory on the international stage.
