A cricket coach, Muralilal, has been apprehended in Lucknow after allegations of sexual abuse against two minor boys surfaced, police confirmed on Sunday. Acting on the families' complaints, authorities swiftly registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and arrested him.
Muralilal reportedly attacked one boy during what he claimed was a medical check-up for Under-14 selection. Subsequently, he continued his abuse against a second boy over three days, according to Bhelupur Additional Commissioner of Police, Gaurav Kumar.
The incident was unveiled when one of the boys fell ill and was taken to a private hospital, where the abuse came to light during a medical inquiry. Notably, Muralilal, previously arrested in 2021 by the Lanka Police for similar accusations, is a divorcee with a controversial past.
